How trade works here
The laws of a great bazaar
Bina lives by the rules of a real bazaar. A fixed price is rare here: almost everything can be discussed, especially if you take several items or buy wholesale.
Goods come to Bina from all over the world: clothing and textiles from Turkey, electronics and small goods from China, fruit and food from Central Asia and the regions of Azerbaijan. Because of the volumes and direct supply, prices are lower than in the city's malls.
Some sellers work wholesale only, others both wholesale and retail. Regulars get a discount, newcomers a “special price”.
Wholesale
Owners of shops and stalls from across the country come here to buy goods in large batches.
Retail
Ordinary families come for a bargain: the same quality but noticeably cheaper.
Bargaining and discounts
Bargaining is the norm. Discounts are given for volume, for cash and simply “as neighbours”.
Where goods come from
Turkey, China, Central Asia and Azerbaijan itself — the range is gathered from across the region.
What is sold
Clothing, footwear, fabrics, electronics, dishes, furniture, tools, cosmetics, food.
Prices
Direct supply and large volumes keep Bina's prices lower than in the city centre.
Stall · BakuAbundance
Stalls from edge to edge
Mountains of fruit and nuts, rows of fabric and clothing, stacks of boxes — the abundance at Bina is striking. Your eyes are spoilt for choice right at the entrance.
Handwritten price tags, scales and the seller's calling voice are the obligatory details of this theatre of trade.
